Handshake student product updates - 11th March

Skills enhancement and auto-complete [Launched: March 2024]

In order to better support students and employers with skills-based hiring we have released an update to make it easier for students to input skills and be discovered by employers based on their skill set.

Currently, students enter multiple variations of the same core skill to their profile. As part of this update, we have standardised a set of core skills and mapped the related variations students enter to them. We’ll even recommend the standardised core skill when students add a skill to their profile.

Going forward, this will enable better search for employers when it comes to sourcing talent based on skill set. Targeting based on a core skill will now include students with any related variations of that skill.
