People search [Launched: May 2025]

'People search' functionality allows students to foster peer-to-peer connections, connect with employers and build their network on Handshake by allowing them to search for peers and employers via a new tab on the left hand toolbar.

Follow a collection [Launched: May 15, 2025]

Students can now follow collections to stay informed of opportunities curated by their career centre that align with their career interests.

Updated mobile app registration [Beta launch: May 20, 2025]

We’ve refreshed the account registration process on the mobile app to help new users more easily access Handshake.

Phone number verification [Launched: May 19, 2025]

Users who create their own accounts are required to verify their phone number to help ensure Handshake remains a safe and secure environment. Students whose accounts are created by career centres (either manually or via an import) are not eligible for phone verification.
